A concept referred to as the Metaverse is a virtual or digital world that seems to merge with the physical, real world. It is a fully functioning coined term virtual reality digital world.
The Metaverse is real time, allowing humans to interact with computers as if they were members of the human society. It is three dimensional, not like the internet we are used to, which is two dimensional.
The internet allows humans to have access to digital files, shared activities, social media sites and to send and receive messages, the Metaverse includes; virtual worlds, virtual reality gaming, simulations and other various types of activities through the digital world.
Ever since the dawn of falsified or science fiction literature written by Neal Stephenson and called “Snow Crash” and then from very much popular movies such as “The Matrix” the Metaverse has been something people; those in the science field mostly, have been longing to actually make.
Since the 1990s, a few puppet programmers have been capable of developing three dimensional virtual worlds and some researchers have formed three dimensional simulations, but their is no actual virtual reality that exists like that of the Metaverse is advertised to be; a wide-set shared space ready to use at any given time.
Now, thanks to a few recent developments in technology, (example; virtual reality goggles) many well-known companies such as facebook and fresh start up businesses alike, now have a possible connective linchpin to start building the Metaverse.
